Sea Allure
Louise Body, Song from the Sea, acrylic on canvas
Coastal landscapes have been on my mind a lot lately. The ever-changing light, the soothing sound of the surf, that therapeutic something just watching the undulation of the vast expanse of blue, and even - I’ve read - the negative ions in the air generated by salt and wind that improve both respiration and inspiration.

Louise Body (b. 1974) hails from the South coast of the UK and has lived by the sea most of her life. Naturally drawn to coastal landscapes, she says “I paint from memory, creating places through a balance between representational and abstract forms, as if combining the imprint of a photograph in your mind which is then abstracted by the memories and feelings of a place.” The results are both unique and captivating. See for yourself.
