Xiong Huiming (Chinese, b. 1957 - ) works with traditional heavy colour ink painting techniques on Korean rice paper, applying ink to both sides of the thin paper to create saturated, vibrant colours. She creates a uniquely personal vision drawing upon the culture and ethnic diversity of her native Yunnan, her experiences as a woman, and her perception of the universe.
