The Red Pill

Pawel Kuczynski, Perfect Garden

Pawel Kuczynski (b. 1976, Poland) is an award-winning illustrator who reflects society as he sees it, warts and all.

Don’t skip the titles.

Pawel Kuczynski, Pure Soul

Inspired in his childhood by Poland’s resistance to the communist regime and its attendant propaganda, he creates witty illustrations that confront uncomfortable truths made more palatable by satire - a bit like sugar-coating that red pill Neo took in Matrix. You still see the truth (at least as Kuczynski sees it, for we all have our own perspective), it just makes it easier to open your eyes to it.

Pawel Kuczynski, Red Wine

A graduate of the Fine Arts Academy in Poznan, Poland, Kuczynski discovered his passion for satirical illustration when a friend encouraged him to enter a cartoon competition in 2004.

Now, 20 years later, he is the winner of more than 140 awards including the prestigious “Eryk” prize awarded by the Association of Polish Cartoonists. In addition to participating in international exhibitions, Kuczynski provides illustrations for magazines in Poland, Europe, and North America, as well as art for music albums and book covers.
